1966　Graduates the Oil Painting Department of Tokyo National University of
　　　Fine Arts and Music, Awards Ohashi Prize at the Graduation Exhibition
　　　Awards Dokuritsu Prize at The 34th Dokuritsu Bijutsu Kyokai Exhibition
1968　Finishes the postgraduate course on murals at Tokyo National University
　　　of Fine Arts and Music, Becomes a member of Dokuritsu Bijutsu Kyokai
1971　Enters the Academy in Venice and studies classical and contemporary
　　　fresco techniques
1974　Awards The 17th Yasui Prize
1977　Researches in U.S.A. and Europe on Grant from Japanese Government
　　　Agency for Cultural Affairs
1987　Awards The 19th Grand Prize of Art Japan
1989　Awards The 30th Mainichi Art Prize
1997　Commissioned to design the official poster for the Olympic Winter Games
　　　1998 in Nagano
2001　Awards The 57th Japan Art Academy Prize and becomes a member of
　　　Japan Art Academy
2009　"Kinutani Koji Award"is started by The Mainichi Daily News Press
